Is it just here or have you been being driven mad for hours by the smell of fowl? They served me this can stuff but after hours of turkey roasting, how could I not turn up my nose. Even uncooked, pull me off a wee bit?

  • good job people

I have been wondering why thye get to play with boxes and paper without me. I came and sat on the lap of the jane. She was pulling transparent things and handing them to the tom. Unfortunately as I was wriggling around I backed up and I got my bare patched attached to the desk. Ouchie. I think I’d do better in a more remote supervisory role.

Maybe I can show them this from Ginger

  • tree whiz!

The tom and jane were home with me today. We put shiny balls on the tree and popcorn with one of my favorite foods, butter. I tried to help but they wanted to just do it for me. They’re sweet. Later tonight while they’re asleep I can see how the view looks from up high in my new perch.

    The Big Gift

    The room was all murky
    no human yet home
but my eyes could make out
    on my circuitous roam
    an unguarded jacket –
    I could make a nest
    spend a peaceful hour
in tail o’er nose deep rest.

    I mounted the table,
    performed such a leap
    that I impressed myself,
and with no one to see.

    I was lying all curled
    in a form sweetly supine
    The wind it was howling
    with a voice so canine
    when what should take ears
    for a super long stretch
but a great rukus of tom
    with grunt, curse and kvetch.

    the door burst open
and in his arms laid a tree,
smelling of pine gum, fresh air,
    squirrels, chickadees… for me?!

    I forgot my cozy corner
    forgave how it was cooled
    sniffing, looking as I pranced
    (sidestepping the ex-snow pools)
    The humans looked tired,
all wet in their mitts and coats
I was glad to have them home
    for some mutual dotes.

(Whisker a face.) You awake jane?

Yes, it’s me, over here, down here now. Yes, here on your bladder.

You have to go to work. You have to get up to go to the bathroom soon. I have to get fed now.

Do you see how this all could work together marvelously?

  • under the sink tom?

The tom has fixed something. I’m glad he’s not injured after all that grunting.

And look, he’s left me a toy bonus – screws to bat. How considerate.

  • check up

Ah, the still of the night. They are dead to the world of movement now, not even a twitch or sudden capsize. I can be the bridge between them, sprawling my sonic vibrations through their snores, scanning their organs with sound vibrations. The exam shows they are well. That’s comforting to know.

  • when the people’s away…

Not a lot to report. People away all day. All the balls are irretrievable. I made do with a few pens from the hard-bed that has teh computer, but eventually lost the pens under the cold-food box too.

  • she gets like this every year

Hey, can’t a cat sleep around here without all this licking and scratching?

What’s with all the paper grooming? How many more papers are you going to lick anyway?

I tell you what. I’ll show you something else you can do with that pen. See, nice gum stimulator for me, see?
