I don’t know what’s gotten into her. She won’t let me be. I sleep half-alert most of the time. I never know when a swat is going to leave a beadmark of red across my nose. She cuts me off and detours me when I go to eat. She is swaggering around the kitchen like she owns it. I own only the lily pad of path of where I walk. She permits me my cheese station at the end of the counter. And laps in the afternoon but evenings she’s mooching in to that too. This habitation isn’t big enough for all of us.
