I am sorry that you will now have to type a security word to comment. I am hoping that this will solve the issue of a certain repeat spammer who shall remain nameless so as to let them slink away, tail between their legs, in due shame and obscurity. I do not wish to advertize this business by referring to it by name or with any quote from it’s spam.
Why is Comment Spam not appreciated?
1) Putting ads in my back history of over a year ago, to increase someone else’s hits from search engines is sneaky piggybacking. I will not allow my space to be misdirected someone else’s interests.
2) If CompanyX had wished to pay me to run ads for it, that may have been entertained and a positive and mutually profitable relationship may have been cultivated.
At this point, after them having used this spam route, it is unlikely that companyX could convince me that the lack of ethics and lack of concern for others would not extends to the customer base. I would not back a bad product as that weakens my reputation.
3) It takes a great deal of the joy out of blogging to spend my creativity to write a post and have my message glibly ignored and a company’s generic message rudely imposed on my personal web space. Ingenuine compliments by the dozen are scarcely more maddening than generic insults by the dozen that other spammers use.
4) I do wish to spend my time dealing with the lack of respect embodied by spam in my comment fields. While it is not extra effort for me to add a captcha, it does penalize the good readers who have been coming in good faith to spend more of their time, squinting their eyes because of the wrongdoing of a corporate other.
5) If I wanted to listen to intrusive noise from others at unappreciated times, that niche would already be ably in paw thanks to my ignoble colleague of little brain.
We now return you to your regular programming.
