Writers Fest: Poets

Poetry Month ends for a year but poetry doesn’t.
There is poetry at the Fest Sunday, tomorrow. It’s Messagio Galore then I’m on stage in conversation with Gillian Sze and Lorna Crozier and host Sandra Ridley. (Color me dazzled.) 4pm, May 1st, Mayfair Theatre.
On Monday, a Robert Pinksy masterclass, a focus on Indian writers, one on ghazals and more Prairie Scene to close.
This one is barely started and I’m already making my wish list for who I’d like to see in future years. So far: Sheila E. Murphy (with Continuations II coming out from U of A soon and Toccatas in the Key of D just out) and John Lent (Cantilevered Songs, Thistedown, 2009).
John Lent should do a CD version of his book too. So should Aurian Haller (Song of the Taxidermist, Gooselane), Jen Currin, Monty Reid and Kay Ryan. Great reading voices, all.
