The Velveteen Horse Winks

Do you communicate close enough to
know Barbara’s patellar funny bone?
her lip-quiver? Stalwart, seemly, the du-
tiful Clydesdale, ploughing on, not a moan.
She turned away? Watch for shoulder blades
closer,
glance —
incipient snort may birth
feral
mirth-whoop
wait
, :
a faint outline glows: her
horn. (Unicorn cum workhorse, in peril
of blowing her sombre cover.)
, :
A crow,
settling off scares 3 doors down,
shoulders jump
mugs bump slosh nearly curses shushes o’er
keyboard.
Flanks heave, shudder, “my oh my” plump
flick, mane, slowing fan of flushed face, pat down
collar, blank buttons, mouth resewn, half-frown.
—
(From challenge to use: incipient, velveteen, Clydesdale, feral, mirth, communicate and crow with my added challenge to sonnetify it)
that was a good read, fun and properly sonnetified if i do say so…
