Random cross-section of a range of poets gives benefits. The poem postcard a day project for August is in its last week and today’s postcard is the sort of poem I might comb thru a few books to get as much pleasure from.

It’s by Rane Arroyo (at bottom of said page, links to sample published poems such as this. Sharp turns. His last book was out in April from No Sins Press, with a focus on gay identity as claimed by Latinos mostly far from New York City. His collected poems is due out this November, The Buried Sea: New & Selected Poems (University of Arizona Press) with selected poems from his first eleven books—five full-length collections of poems and six chapbooks—and nineteen new poems.
Meanwhile my postcard poem of the day is ready to go to post. Er, except for the poem part.

Reading Greek poet Yannis Ritsos in English translation by Scott King and solids, or, strike out (a suite) by rob mclennan by Lars Palm’s ungovernable press is helping neurons be inspired again.

I love Yannis Ritsos! Thanks for the reminder, must go read him again. The Arroyo pc is wonderful too.
