Results of Golden Cherry Awards

Who says prophets are not recognized in their own town. (oh yeah) Anyhew, the Ottawa Citizen reports who gets the biggest encouraging nods:

rob mclennan was named best poet of the year (written), and Oni the Haitian Sensation was best spoken-word poet of the year. The best work of fiction was Late Nights on Air, by Elizabeth Hay, and best non-fiction was rob mclennan’s Subverting the Lyric. Best new theatre work was Disaster, by (also poet) David O’Meara, who was also named best playwright.
