Today is poetry day with the John Newlove Poetry Award at Southminister United Church at 6:30 with readings of this years honorble mentions, readings by 2009 winner Marcus McCann and the announcement of next year’s winner of the John Newlove Chapbook. The Poetry Cabaret is at the Mayfair Theatre at 8:30 with readings by Peter Norman, Sandra Ridley, George Murray, M.T. Kelly, hosted by Stephen Brockwell.
Tomorrow evening’s time slot is novelists hosted by poet/novelist Mike Blouin at the fest versus Betsy Struthers and Oni the Haitian Sensation at Tree The Bywords calendar lists 13 literary events in Ottawa for tomorrow then it settles down to the more usual 4 or 5 choices per day. What a city!
