Some info

gustave morin (or gus, as everyone calls him), has been sniffing the keyholes of our cultural, political and sociological margins for over 20 years, publishing, exhibiting and performing his varied works in a variety of contexts, including pages, stages, walls, screens and in the mail. The 10th book, A Psychowestern, was quietly released in 2010 in conjunction with Media City 16, an annual festival of experimental film and video art held in Windsor, Ontario where he lives.

Kevin Thurston interviewed him in 2006 which contains some of his visual poems in which he also said,

i can see my work in performance extending to further involvements with theatre and the like. i can see my work becoming (to cop a phrase) plastic-er and plastic-er, and my showing in galleries a lot more as a result, et cetera. all of these are extremely likely “when i reach that point post-concrete [poetry]”.

He comes to town on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 8:00pm, (doors 7:30pm) at Gallery 101 at 301 1/2 Bank Street (upstairs from the Atomic Rooster near Somerset), Ottawa, Ontario.
If you’re up for a double- or triple-header literary day, you can put your ducks in a row and before The AB Series pop over to the Manx Pub, Plan 99 Series at 5:00pm Shane Rhodes launching Err (Nightwood Editions, 2011).
Then over to the Mercury Lounge, 56 Byward at 7:00pm for the Capital Slam with Nathanael Larochette & the last qualifying slam of 2010/11.
