Where: impresario Artisan Market, 37 King St. West, Cobourg
Cobourg’s new IMPRESARIO ARTISAN MARKET, in collaboration with Scotland’s intermedia artists, ZORRAS, presents a three-day festival of poetry and literary arts November 2nd to 4th at 37 King Street West.
For three days, Cobourg will be treated to readings and performances from local poets such as STUART ROSS [Winner of the 2012 L.I. Segal English Fiction & Poetry Award], poet laureate TED AMSDEN and LINDA HUTSELL-MANNING, as well as visiting writers from Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton and Edinburgh, Scotland. All events are pay-what-you-can or free.
For the duration of the festival, the gallery will also feature visual art that incorporates text, including stunning works by local textile artist LAURIE SIBLOCK and Toronto artist KAREN MIRANDA AUGUSTINE. The opening night will showcase strange and humourous poetry videos by various artists such as Cobourg’s WALLY KEELER and Hamilton’s GARY BARWIN. The night will culminate with a performance from Scotland’s Zorras, who combine poetry, music and video in a unique and mesmerizing performance.
