Lists of Anticipated

There are still books from the last couple years I haven’t bought (like Light by Thammavongsa or Camlot’s What the World Said) or bought and haven’t consumed (too many to say)
… and yet, sight unseen, there are some things to look forward to in poetry: Versefest Ottawa, Haiku Canada Weekend in Ottawa (and the “Wah” anthology of poems in English, Punjabi and Hindi) that is to release plus all the other normal small press goodnesses),Ottawa Writer’s Fest, the October and June Ottawa small press fairs and their finds, and the Kingston WritersFest.
Quill & Quire, 49th shelves has some most anticipated and Vehicule’s roundup gives some days at the ponies bets.
I’d like to see inside the anthology Why Poetry Sucks, Asking by Shawna LeMay, Bonsai Love by Diane L. Tucker, Stowaway by Ariel Gordon, and Dog Ear by Jim Johnstone because its cover is great.
I think it’s not only going to be a good year, but pricy as normal.
In the finally-another-book category: School by Jenn Currin, Old Hat by Rob Winger and Moon Baboon Canoe by Gary Barwin (Mansfield).
Something interesting may come out at Copper Canyon. Outside of those, Apt 9 has Nelson Ball’s Minutiae. This fall Chaudiere has books by Monty Reid, Amanda Earl and Roland Prevost. Omnidawn is releasing To Keep time by Joseph Massey.
And to offset all the contemporiness of it all, I’ll have to bore into classics and things from mid-century and before. And older of the contemporary like some more of Brenda Hillman. What all am I missing of holes in my knowledge? Non-poetry, of course, but life covers that off too.
