Canada Reads Poetry Promo

Canada Reads PoetryCanada Reads Poetry is put on by CBC and the National Post with online discussions and a public vote at the end.
What’s advised as a Must Read by the panel?

Sonnet L’Abbé is defending Forage by Rita Wong.
Anne Simpson is defending Nox by Anne Carson.
George Murray is defending Inventory by Dionne Brand.
Susan Musgrave is defending Selected Poems by Alden Nowlan.
Jacob McArthur Mooney is defending Sheep’s Vigil by a Fervent Person by Erin Mouré.

While no book is really indefensible, it’s the language of the game of promoting the winning aspects of a collection under the theory that if poetry makes the cut to be talked about, thought about, analyzed even, everyone wins by the process.
