Poetry at Festival

Poetry at this spring festival:
Saturday, April 24@ 6:30: Spotlight on Talon Poetry:
derek beaulieu, Weyman Chan, Frank Davey and George Bowering. ( I suppose Daphne Marlatt was festival guest recently. It might be too soon for a return, but really, can one get too much of her readings?)
Saturday, April 24@ 8:00: House of Anansi Poetry:
Michael Lista, Suzanne Buffam and Steven Heighton (no Heather McHugh tho, darn.)
Monday, April 26 @ 8:00 PM Poetry Cabaret:
Rachel Zolf, Jesse Patrick Ferguson, Gregory Scofield and Erín Moure
Steven Heighton comes back again as part of the year-round festival on May 10.
Of those Buffam and Lista I haven’t heard. I’ll enjoy hearing new from these. Curious about Zolf’s new things. Always enjoy seeing beaulieu’s readings. Now that I’m almost finished reading Bowering’s A Magpie Life, I’m interested to see how I read his readings differently.
Maybe some year University of California or to check out Grey Wolf Press poets in person as well, so we aren’t so domestically focused and get more cross-pollination. Or Ahsahta Press that SPD reports doing well in the U.S. Other than the anthology she edited, I don’t suppose Naomi Shihab Nye has a new collection to promote just now that would facilitate her coming…Who would be a large audience drawing card yet not out of price range? Accessible enough or rare enough? Wide enough known yet not ubiquitous? Tricky.
