Visual poetry and interview with Judith Copithorne. Here’s a curious snippet that I’ve believed but not heard anyone articulate before. Interviewer Steve Calvert said, “All coded human expression is perceived and processed by the human nervous system as identical to and indistinguishable from language.”
We create dichotomies between genres of expression for our convenience of pointing and call this body language and this some intuitive belief about how someone perceives and this theatre and this visual art and this poetry and this story and this a conversation and this a blather but non-humans also pick up on the signalling that is chemical and salient and relevant and patterned, whether intentional or accidental.
